Inspired by this seasons russet and gold palette and warm Autumnal days we have dyed a whole range of threads, yarns and fibres. Wool neeps, burrs and slubs are wonderfully bobbley and add surface interest and texture to scarves and flower corsages.
We’ve been inspired by a whole new colour palette brought about by the changing season and the thought of Halloween. Recently we’ve created a range of felt corsages in rich Autumn shades and deep purple hues.
Collecting apples from the garden, it’s hard not to be inspired by the seasons colours of russet and warm green. I feel a new colour palette may be on the horizon.
Autumn has now arrived, and the change in weather has brought about a change in me and Nic too! We have both wanted to update our hair. Last week Nic took the plunge and had her hair changed to a stunning red hue. Today I have bitten the bullet, and along with a much needed haircut have gone all warm terracotta auburn. Love it! Bring’s out the green in my eyes! I feel an Autumn inspired range coming soon!
We have recently made a new collection and what we feel it will be a great addition to our portfolio – a Bridal Boutique. A wedding is a very special occasion and whether you’re the Bride & Groom, or have a special role to play in the big day, or if you are a guest; we all like to look our best in the perfect outfit. Traditionally guests wear a floral buttonhole or corsage usually of fresh flowers and leaves either in matching colours to the bridal theme or to match to their own outfit. These floral arrangements are exquisite but with all fresh flowers they soon wilt and die, which seems an aweful shame. As you know we have already been commissioned to make a set of lily corsages for one wedding, we have decided to expand upon that idea and launch a Bridal Boutique with a theme of “Winter Weddings”.Comprising of beautiful unique hand made felt and beaded flower corsages, wrist corsages which are perfect for bridesmaids and hair fasinators, along silde our silk & felt wraps which we feel are the ultimate wedding accessory. Each product is handmade and therefore totally individual; a piece of wearable art. The beauty of felt corsages is they will last forever and can be worn again and again (what an investment!) Keep looking for the launch of these special pieces and in the meantime have a look at the photo of Emma modelling a hair fasinator.
We were recently asked to make several cream lily corsages for a forethcoming Winter Wedding. All the corsages were made using the same colour felt and although they were made to a uniform size of 6cm x 12cm each were subtly different. Some were decorated with cream pearl beads, others diamonte strands, while others had crystal effect and vintage beads. Take a look at the results.
We’re happy to consider your commissions. Please get in touch through the contact page.
As Summer fades to Autumn glow and we all start to search out those Autumnal woolies and boots, why not think about accessorizing your outfit with one of our pieces of felt jewelry. Each piece is unique and distinctive and will complement any outfit. We’re adding new pieces to our collection all the time, I’m sure we’ve got just what you’re looking for.
Upcycling is the new old and what better way to breath new life into your favourite cardy or jacket than by jazzing it up with one of our new products – felt buttons. Buttons are a perfect way to add interest to an existing product. A great way of making a personal statement, a bespoke and designer look for a fraction of the cost. Our felt buttons fall into two types; the felt swirl buttons are made from felt beads which have been secured onto a silver coloured metal button back or the felt covered buttons which are pieces of decorated felt cut and shaped over a “covered button”. Either can be easily sewn onto an item of your choice. They also make super stocking fillers!
As Emma said, we’ve been updating and improving our Etsy shop. Just this morning I’ve been playing with some of our photos in photoshop to make a banner for the Etsy shop. Here’s the results…….
We’re currently working hard on uploading pieces we have not yet put on either our website or Etsy, so have a look and see what’s new.
Also our felt flower brooches/ corsages will be included in a brooch featured ad tomorrow- have a look and click like to link us to facebook or twitter if you like what you see.
